Carved by wind and sea on Tasmania’s wild southern edge, Cape Raoul is a place where nature has sculpted pure drama. The sheer basalt cliffs plunge straight into the Southern Ocean, forming towering columns that look almost man-made.

Walking along the Cape Raoul Track, I was greeted by sweeping views across to Shipstern Bluff and an incredible abundance of wildlife — wallabies, soaring sea birds, and more echidnas than I’ve ever seen in one place. The combination of ocean spray, rugged rock formations, and that deep southern silence makes it one of those places you just stop and take in.

If you love landscapes that feel untouched and elemental, Cape Raoul delivers it in spades — and it photographs beautifully in any light.
