I can highly recommned visiting Tea Gardens as a day trip from Nelson Bay. Embarking on the old ferry is a delightful way to start your adventure . The old ferry glides across the shimmering Port Stephens Bay and makes its way up the picturesque Kuruah River. You'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Keep your eyes peeled, as you may be greeted by a playful pod of dolphins or the majestic sight of an eagle soaring overhead.
