Tips - The Histogram
The histogram is a very useful tool that allows us to quickly asses the overall exposure (tonal range) of an image. It is expressed as a graph of brightness levels ranging from dark (shadows) on the left through to light (highlights) on the right. The height on the graph displays the quantity of an image (number of pixels) at a particular brightness level.

It is therefore very easy to see when we've over or underexposed an image.
