Jervis Bay will always feel a bit special for me — it was the very first place I photographed when this whole journey began back in 2003. Those early mornings along the bright white sand and that impossibly clear water left a real mark, and it’s easy to see why we kept returning to Huskison over the years. There’s something about the calmness of the bay and the way the light moves across the water that just stays with you.

Huskison became a familiar favourite — a relaxed little town with easy access to the beaches, the pier, and the long curves of Hyams and Vincentia. Each visit felt like stepping back into that original spark that started everything.

Our most recent trip took us further south into Booderee National Park, where the beaches feel even wilder and more untouched. The forest meets the water in a way that feels completely natural, and the quiet coves around Murrays Beach and Steamers Beach show off that classic Jervis Bay clarity but with a more remote feel. Wandering the tracks through the bush and ending up at these pristine pockets of sand was a perfect reminder of why this coastline has meant so much from the very beginning.
